Prehnite with Calcite (fake)
specimen number:
9711230
location:
Merelani Hills, Simanjiro, Manyara, Tanzania
description:
A grouping of pale green semi lustrous translucent prehnite crystals 1.2 cm in size set up on a matrix of crystallized calcite. The prehnite has been glued upon the calcite matrix, using a mixture of ground up matrix which is obvious in the picture and video. This is also fluorescent showing the glue. Interesting as a fake specimen for this locality, the specimen is priced as of the prehnite were loose as a floater.
