Barite
specimen number:
3651457
location:
Cheshire Barite mines, Cheshire, New Haven Co., Connecticut, USA
description:
Wonderful large old time specimen said to have been collected in the 1890s and originally obtained from Bob Jones. A grouping of tabular heavy highly translucent and lustrous barite crystals without matrix. Very minimal chipping present, I still think in great condition for what this is.
