Very aerial aggregate, on matrix, of sharp flattened crystals that are between transparent and translucent, very bright, with inclusions, and that have a dark plum color with mauve shades. Russian Axinite specimens are famous for their size, deep color and sharpness of the crystals. At one time the specimen was part of the collection of Carless Millan and before that the Silvane collection. Very slight micro-chipping present not atypical of these, this one still in very good condition.
